Term:

The Valero Alamo Bowl “Stars and Stripes” National Anthem Contest begins October 17, 2013, and is subject to discontinuation by the Valero Alamo Bowl at any time without prior notice. The contest winner could have the honor of performing the National Anthem pregame at the 2013 Valero Alamo Bowl. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest. The contest winner must be able to perform the National Anthem in less than 90 seconds.

Who may enter:

Any US citizen is eligible to enter. The Valero Alamo Bowl will determine winners’ eligibility. Talent featured in video may be under the age of 18, but is required to gain consent from a parent or guardian and provide it to the Valero Alamo Bowl upon request.

Entry deadline:

The Valero Alamo Bowl “Stars and Stripes” Contest entries can be submitted by clicking here. All entries must be received before 11:59 p.m. CST on November 3, 2013.

How to enter:

Participants will upload a 90 second or less video clip of themselves singing the entire National Anthem to the above link between 9 a.m. CST of October 17, 2013 and 11:59 p.m. CST of November 3, 2013. Submissions will be judged by Valero Alamo Bowl staff and narrowed to 3-5 finalists, which will be opened up to a final public vote starting at 9 a.m. CST on November 11, 2013. Final voting will close at 11:59 p.m. CST of November 22, 2013, with the entry receiving the most votes being named winner pending approval by the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Videos that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers (except online) are not eligible. Videos that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible.

Video file must be in .avi, .dv, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .mpeg, .3gp, .asf, .wmv, or .mpg format and must not exceed 200 MB in size. Video entry must not infringe on the rights, including, but not limited to, copyrights (including music copyright), trademarks, right of publicity, right of privacy or other intellectual property and proprietary rights in the entry.

By entering the contest, entrants grant the Valero Alamo Bowl a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any Valero Alamo Bowl purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotion of associated bowl events and its Web site, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Valero Alamo Bowl publications. Videos may appear on the Valero Alamo Bowl Web site as well as in various publications. The Valero Alamo Bowl will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

Judging/Fan Voting:

The first round of entries will be narrowed down to 3-5 finalists by the Valero Alamo Bowl staff. Selected final contestants videos will be uploaded to a finalist’s page, where fans will be able to vote for their favorite video beginning at 9 a.m. CST on November 11, 2013. Official voting will be held here.

Each video may receive up to one vote per person, per day. Fan voting will close at 11:59 p.m. CST on November 22, 2013. The video receiving the most votes will be selected as the contest winner pending approval by the Valero Alamo Bowl. Decisions of the Valero Alamo Bowl will be final and the winner will be contacted by the Valero Alamo Bowl on November 26, 2013.

Grand prize

The contest winner will receive two game tickets, two field credentials and one parking pass for the Valero Alamo Bowl on December 30, 2013.

The Valero Alamo Bowl reserves the right to change prizes at any time. Prizes are time, date and location specific. The winner will not be compensated for travel associated with participating in prizes and must have the ability to travel to San Antonio for the Valero Alamo Bowl.

The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Valero Alamo Bowl reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of the Valero Alamo Bowl will be final.
